Besides his Egyptian citizenship, Marmoush holds Canadian citizenship through his Egyptian Canadian parents who lived in Canada for six years before resettling in Cairo, where Marmoush was raised and started playing youth football with the Wadi Degla youth academy. He lived in the Maadi neighbourhood in Cairo, Egypt. Marmoush is a Muslim. He is often seen doing the sujud after scoring a goal.
