Teams that play in red win more often.
Hill & Barton (Nature, 2005) reported that competitors wearing red won more often in equally matched combat sports at the Athens Olympics. Follow-up work in English league football found a small advantage for red home shirts. International tournament data is noisier because home/away kits rotate. There is something to it; 'always wins' is not what the evidence says.
